Reflections | February 2015 Roundup

Here are some of the random images for February's roundup.  Enjoy :)

So I've been working with this young one, getting him used to the camera's shutter clicks.  He is so tentative, as he should be and also why his expression is so cute.

As I was trying to get him comfortable with me, he did move in closer.  In this image he is 18" away from me and no glass between us.  Take a look at what I saw in the viewfinder coming up in the background.  Now that was exciting!

Look at him sneaking up on the younger male.  They are the same height, but when you really look at their faces, it's like looking at Simba and Mufasa, they are very different--baby to mature adult.

I have photographed so many sunsets over the water and came across this sunset in the agricultural area of Woodinville one evening on my way home. I had to stop and take a few images.

I took this image from West Seattle this past weekend.  It was a beautiful day for the last day of February.

Evening Fog | Bellevue Portrait Photographer

I was so lucky to take some time off and go into the nearby Snoqualmie valley and take some images during the recent week of heavy fog.  As a local Bellevue portrait photographer, it's a refreshing rejuvenation of creativity that only transcends into my work with my portrait clients.

Moody sky

I just love this photo. Don't ask me why? Maybe it's just reflective of my mood these days...

A Fiery sky, Ice and Water

The following images were shot two days apart starting the evening of November 30th, with a gorgeous sunset. On December 2nd we got snow and then on December 4th, the flooding. Snoqualmie Falls was a spectacular sight due to the record rainfall resulting in urban flooding.

Cascade Loop - North Cascade Highway

Paul and I took another one of our "whirlwind" trips this weekend. We left 2 p.m. (a late start) and headed up to Darrington, then over to Highway 20, to Newhalem, then Diablo, and then Washington Pass (elevation 5477 feet,) where we stopped to hike up to the lookout point and take a few photos.

We left the Pass and arrived in Winthrop where the town was bustling and busy. The minute we were east of the mountains the weather was a pleasant 76 degrees and there were white tailed deer in all the fields, so many that we really had to be careful driving, because they would dart out in front of cars.

In one case we saw a doe, pulled over and took a few photos of her, but she was making a noise that sounded like a little lamb, she was frozen, didn't move and looked somewhat distressed. We looked across the highway and saw her reason; she had two fawns waiting for her on the other side.

I saw this doe almost get hit by two different cars and at one-point, I got out of my truck to try to wave a van driving at full speed to slow down. It was scary, the driver in the van just missed her, and the car that slammed on their brakes (which I saw in my rear view mirror) also missed her. Thankfully, no one was hurt and she was reunited with her little ones to graze in a field of alfalfa.
