I had the opportunity last night to watch Miss E. and her teammates play fast pitch softball. I'm used to shooting at fields that are not encased by the big chain link fences, (the younger kids play on open fields.)
Initially, I was put off by the high fence (not photograph friendly.) Well... I have a new appreciation for these high-rise fences... Miss E. was assigned to play catcher, so I got my stool and lined myself right behind home base.
Here's a mental image for you... Picture me, balancing myself three-feet in the air on the stool (without handles) to get the shot and then that ball came flying right at me.
WHACK!One of the parents commented that it was a good thing I didn't have my lens right up to the fence. Thankfully, I know not to do this; good thing too, because the ball is coming with
such force and without the fence, both my lens and I would have been taken
OUT!E. you're a beautiful young lady, strong player and an awesome teammate!
